Dorothy enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, crafts, traveling, taking bus trips, sewing, baking and family gatherings. Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Dorothy Aileen (Stemm) Kostman was born on Sunday; February 8, 1925 in rural Lone Tree; Johnson County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Albert and Vella (Brandt) Stemm, in rural Lone Tree, Iowa. For 25 + years, she worked for Quaker Oats Company in the package department, retiring in 1992. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, crafts, traveling, taking bus trips, sewing, baking and family gatherings. She also enjoyed country music, spending time with her family, especially with her grandsons and her cat, Star. Dorothy was loved and will be missed by all, especially her smile. Dorothy Aileen (Stemm) Kostman, age 85, passed away on Friday; July 9, 2010, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha; Linn County, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her daughters: Shirley (Dennis) Starr and Sheila Kostman, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her two grandchildren: Derrick (Danielle) Starr of Marion, Iowa and Daniel Starr of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her sister: Martha (Merle Price) Sundberg of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her two special cousins: Alvin (Ardella) Stemm and Elwood Stemm both of Lone Tree, Iowa. Her niece: Debra (Clayton) Foreman of Toddville, Iowa. Her nephew: Larry Banks of West Liberty, Iowa and special friends: Harry and Marti Glessner and Jim Estes. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter: Sheryl Ann and her sister: Doris Banks. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday; July 12, 2010, at the Murdoch~Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday; July 13, 2010 at the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion, Iowa with the Reverend Gregory Williamson officiating. Interment will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Lone Tree; Johnson County, Iowa. Special thanks to the staff at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf House. The Murdoch~Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements.
