Description	:	DRAKESVILLE — Dorothy Alice Roberts, 88, of Ottumwa and formerly of Drakesville, passed from this life at 3:55 a.m. Sept. 17, 2014, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. Dorothy was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Davis County to Walter and Pearl Lurene Farabough Hopkins. She married the love of her life, Leslie Clair Roberts, on Feb. 3, 1946, in Bloomfield. Read More	DRAKESVILLE — Dorothy Alice Roberts, 88, of Ottumwa and formerly of Drakesville, passed from this life at 3:55 a.m. Sept. 17, 2014, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. Dorothy was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Davis County to Walter and Pearl Lurene Farabough Hopkins. She married the love of her life, Leslie Clair Roberts, on Feb. 3, 1946, in Bloomfield. He died April 15, 2004. They were blessed with three children, Danny Eugene, Sandra Kay and Pamela Sue. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. When younger, Dorothy worked several jobs in Bloomfield and Omaha, Nebraska. Once the children were nearly grown, she worked outside the home again at Standard Kollsman, Riverside and Everco in Ottumwa. She and Clair farmed in northern Davis County for more than 60 years. Her interests included sewing, quilting, embroidery, scrapbooking, rock hunting, gardening, yard work, baking, jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles. Left to cherish and honor her memory are a son, Danny and Lynn Roberts of Drakesville; a daughter, Sandra and Delbert Dale Cormeny of Ottumwa; five grandchildren, Lisa and Matt Rose of Ottumwa, Jenny and Jeff Potter of Portland, Oregon, Ashley and Michael Lopez of Seattle, Washington, Kimberly and Andy Garland of Drakesville, James Roberts of Drakesville; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Velma and Alden Williams of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Lucille Hopkins of Fairfield, Kathy Hopkins of Albia; a sister-in-law, Lettie Oakley in Eureka, California; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Pamela Allgood; three brothers, Bert, Floyd and LeRoy Hopkins; and one great-grandson, Matthew Dale Rose. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wesley Chapel North Cemetery in Davis County; Pastor Jim Matheney officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer’s Association.
