DOROTHY was born November 24, 1914, in Grant Township, Carroll County, Iowa, the daughter of OTTO and EMMA (FRICKE) WENCK. DOROTHY was baptized as an infant on December 20, 1914 and confirmed March 24, 1929 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale, Iowa. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School. On April 26, 1936, DOROTHY was united in marriage to OLIVER F. ALBERS at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lidderdale, Iowa. They lived northwest of Lidderdale, Iowa, until 1954, when DOROTHY and her family moved to rural Sac City, Iowa, where she lived until her health forced her to move to Park View Care Center, in September 2007. DOROTHY loved her family. Providing a comfortable home for her family and working beside her husband on their farm brought her great joy. She enjoyed quilting, working in her garden, and holiday celebrations were always a special time, as she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. DOROTHY invited each grandchild individually to come spend a few days at her house for some special attention during the summer months. WAITING FOR DOROTHY TO JOIN THEM ARE THOSE WHO PRECEDED HER IN DEATH: Her parents OTTO and EMMA {FRICKE} WENCK; Her husband OLIVER F. ALBERS, who died in 2000; Her sister ALMA BRUGGEMAN; Her three brothers: ERNEST, HERMAN and PAUL WENCK. Visitation: 4:00-8:00 p.m. January 30, 2009 at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home, Sac City, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. January 31, 2009 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sac City, Iowa. Interment: Following the Lunch January 31, 2009, at OAKLAWN CEMETERY, Auburn, Sac County, Iowa.
