She was born August 28, 1926 in Newton, IA to Adam and Zelda Hildebrand Arndt. She married Ralph "Jack" Jackson on June 29, 1945 in Ottumwa. She was born August 28, 1926 in Newton, IA to Adam and Zelda Hildebrand Arndt. She married Ralph "Jack" Jackson on June 29, 1945 in Ottumwa. Dorothy was a member of Eden Prairie Presbyterian Church in Eden Prairie, MN and had been a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa. She was also a member of the Minnetonka Red Hat Society and Ottumwa Women's Club. Dorothy was a loving wife, terrific mom and wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy loved the Lord with all her heart. She was compassionate and enjoyed serving others. Her greatest joy was in cooking and having family dinners and picnics. She cared deeply for her sisters and brothers and was happiest when her family was with her. Dorothy held her relationships with her family and friends close to her heart. She loved traveling and reading. Dorothy already is and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her beloved husband, Jack; her daughter and best friend, Connie(Vic)Potter of Minnetonka, MN; six grandchildren, Chris(Diahann)Potter of Deephaven, MN, Kelli(Ian)Plater of Fort Gratiot, MI, Randy(Petra)Jackson of Germany, Mike Jackson of Bettendorf, Joshua and Noah Jackson of Hedrick; seven great-grandchildren, MaKenna and Cole Potter, Lanie Jane and Easton Plater, Amber, Madilyn and Maddox Jackson; three sisters, Patricia Kutcher of Ottumwa, Carol(Denny)Krehbiel of Cambridge and Marvine Lane of Omaha, NE; a brother, Jerry(Margaret)Arndt of West Des Moines. She was preceded in death by two sons, Danny and infant Randy Jackson and a granddaughter, Bonnie Ann Jackson. Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. David Klanderman officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation will be open after 11 am Friday. The family present will be one hour prior to the service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa or Eden Prairie Presbyterian Church, Eden Prairie, MN.
