She was a homemaker and was a member of Limestone Street United Methodist Church where she was involved in numerous church activities. Born March 11 , 1921 in Cherokee County, she was the widow of the late Gary Hyatt and daughter of the late Oscar Daniel and Minnie Sellars Daniel. She was a homemaker and was a member of Limestone Street United Methodist Church where she was involved in numerous church activities. She was an artist, a seamstress, loved flowers, loved playing Bridge and was a member of a garden club. She was affectionately known as “Grandmother” to all of her friends at Peachtree Centre. Surviving are two daughters, Loretta O’Donald and husband, John, of Gaffney and Patricia Hyatt Harrison of Gaffney; a brother, Joe Daniel and wife, Sally, of Spartanburg; two sisters, Myrtle Lowe of Gaffney, and Yvonne Werle of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Brandon Humphries and wife, Betsy, Garrett Humphries, Troy Harrison and wife, Mary, and Cathy Petty and husband, Mike; six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Etta Swofford and Norma Daniel and two brothers, Rayford Daniel and Dewey Daniel. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Johnson and Rev. Al McKinney officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Limestone Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 455, Gaffney, S.C. 29342. The family will be at the home of John and Loretta O’Donald, 437 Cherokee National Highway, Gaffney. An online guest register is available at www.blakelyfuneralhome.com.
