Description	:	Mayodan- Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Smith Shreve, 98, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Morehead Hospital. A 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 at The Episcopal Church of The Messiah with The Reverend Dr. Rocky Rachel officiating. Interment will follow in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. A Rockingham County native, Dot was born August 15, 1915, the daughter of, Thomas Chester Smith, Sr. and Lena Frances Martin Smith. Dot is survived by three daughters, Linda Hurd of Huntersville, NC, Norma Lou Heath of Montgomery AL and Lorena Besch of the home; sister, Martene Gibson of Winston-Salem, NC; Nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will received friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the church parish hall Friday. January 24, 2014. Online condolences may be sent to www.rayfuneralhome.com.
