Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday October 24, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence, with Pastor Tommi Boeder officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Clarence, Iowa. Dorothy Elaine Miller was born January 9, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Fred and Louise (Hulse) Miller. She married Arthur Max Claney on April 11, 1944, in Clarence. He died on January 24, 1999. She was a telephone operator at the Clarence Telephone Company for 48 years. She enjoyed cards, golf, and was on a bowling league well into her 80's. She was a member of the Clarence Legion Auxiliary and also St. John's United Church of Christ, where she was a choir member for many years. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog. She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn (Gene) Koth of Clarence; two grandchildren, Colette (Dan) Sander and Aaron Koth, both of Clarence; four great-grandchildren, Colin and Kayla Sander and Samantha and Benjamin Koth; one brother, Robert Miller of Clarence; and one sister, Donna Wulff of Clarence.
