Description	:	BYESVILLE -- Dorothy Elaine Basford, 86, of Byesville, passed away Monday (Feb. 4, 2013) at her home. She was born April 11, 1926, in Byesville, daughter of the late Roy and Roxie (Garey) Potts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dallas "Warne" Basford, whom she married Nov. 28, 1947, and passed away in June 15, 1987; and a brother, Donald E. Read More	BYESVILLE -- Dorothy Elaine Basford, 86, of Byesville, passed away Monday (Feb. 4, 2013) at her home. She was born April 11, 1926, in Byesville, daughter of the late Roy and Roxie (Garey) Potts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dallas "Warne" Basford, whom she married Nov. 28, 1947, and passed away in June 15, 1987; and a brother, Donald E. Potts of Massillon. Mrs. Basford was a homemaker and a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Byesville, and a 1944 graduate of Byesville High School. She loved her family very much, always had a smile on her face and had a "heart of gold." She always appreciated so much everything her family did for her whether it was big or little. She was always a huge animal lover of pets and God's creatures outside. She loved feeding her birds and rabbits outside and the ducks at Jackson Park in Byesville. She was always donating to animal causes which she received in the mail. Along with her love of animals, she always had a great love of dolls since she was a little girl. She had a collection of dolls including her first doll she had received as a young girl. Her other love was eating out with her absolute favorite being "Tlaquepaque Mexican Restaurant" of Cambridge. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and her absence will leave a great void in our hearts forever. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed. She is survived by a daughter, Darla (Jim) Moore of Cambridge; a son, Darrel (Ev) Basford of Cambridge; a grandson, Darren Basford, who lived with his grandma and was a big help to her everyday with her daily needs. She is also survived by a brother, Dwight Potts of Tucson, Ariz. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Courtnie Mackie officiating. A private burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
