She grew up in Osmond. She lived in Beemer where she taught school until moving to Stanton in 1949. She moved to Fontanelle and lived there until moving to Arlington in 1978. She grew up in Osmond. She lived in Beemer where she taught school until moving to Stanton in 1949. She moved to Fontanelle and lived there until moving to Arlington in 1978. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Fontanelle Hybrids in Fontanelle for 20 years. She married Carl H. Brokaw on March 19, 1949, in Stanton. He died June 7, 2000. Survivors include: a son, Terry (and wife, Winnie) Brokaw of Arlington; a daughter, Lenice Carr of Fremont; son-in-law, Robert Carr of Fremont; eight grandchildren, numerous stepgrandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother, two sisters, a grandson and a great-grandson. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Jason Shaw of the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-11 a.m. Friday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect View Cemetery in Pierce at a later date. Memorials have been established to the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department and the Arlington Swimming Pool Fund.
