She was born on March 29, 1937, to Raymond Earl Adams and Nellie Jane (VerMaas) Adams in Adams, Nebraska. Dorothy was baptized at the Adams Presbyterian Church in 1937. Her brother, Roger, was born three years later. Dorothy liked being the big sister, and she said that her brother always stood up for her. Read More	Dorothy Ellen (Adams) Egger, 79, of Firth, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016. She was born on March 29, 1937, to Raymond Earl Adams and Nellie Jane (VerMaas) Adams in Adams, Nebraska. Dorothy was baptized at the Adams Presbyterian Church in 1937. Her brother, Roger, was born three years later. Dorothy liked being the big sister, and she said that her brother always stood up for her. She attended school at Mount Pleasant, District 142, and then at Hickman High, where she graduated. Dorothy married James Egger in 1956 and had three children, Denise Frechette, Kristi Egger and John Egger. Her jobs included working on the farm during her youth, Tate's Cafe, Gold's Department Store, selling Avon, and being a homemaker. She enjoyed talking to her friends on the telephone, reading, playing the piano, accordion, guitar, and harmonica (which she learned to play by ear), gardening, and baseball. Many people in the Firth nursing home were blessed to hear her play her guitar and sing some of her favorite hymns and country songs. Her grandchildren, Sara, Ashley, Amanda, Megan, Dylan, Alyssa, Payton, and Josh, and her great-grandchildren, gave her great joy. An answer to her prayers occurred when she met Paul Anderson, her long time partner. He loved and supported her through her final breath. She is preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her brother, her children, their children, and Paul, her loving partner. Funeral services on Friday, December 9, 2016, at at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home in Hickman, Nebraska. Interment at the Holland Cemetery.
