Description	:	Dorothy Elnora Fogle Kalina of Lewistown, Montana died Saturday August 31, 2019 at the age of 95 years, five months and 18 days at the Central Montana Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lewistown. Dorothy was born in Roy, Montana March 13, 1924, the first of five children of Harvey E. and Myrtle Larsen Fogle (midwife-delivered by her maternal great grandmother Caroline Olsen). Read More	Dorothy Elnora Fogle Kalina of Lewistown, Montana died Saturday August 31, 2019 at the age of 95 years, five months and 18 days at the Central Montana Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lewistown. Dorothy was born in Roy, Montana March 13, 1924, the first of five children of Harvey E. and Myrtle Larsen Fogle (midwife-delivered by her maternal great grandmother Caroline Olsen). She began school in Roy, attended school in Puyallup, Washington, and then in the spring of 1940 returned to Roy where she graduated Roy High School class of 1941. The Fogle family made several trips over the mountains to Washington State looking for work and a better life during the depression years. They often lived with relatives and a couple times in tents. As children, Dorothy and Katherin worked in the berry fields in Washington while their parents worked in the ship yards. Dorothy rode the train by herself to Galveston, Texas where she and Milton were married October 2, 1943. He was stationed at Fort Crockett, was discharged and they returned to Montana and ultimately back to east of Roy. To this union two children were born, Larry Dale, August 27, 1946 and Colene Kay, October 12, 1950. Milton and Dorothy worked side by side on their farm and sold eggs in Lewistown and surrounding areas. In 1974, they left the farm moving to Lewistown where Dorothy worked for Anthony’s store as the manager of the children’s clothing department. After retirement, she bought a kiln and painted ceramics; the Old World Santa figures were her favorite. Work, hobbies and family filled Dorothy’s life. She was most content when she was busy. Dorothy was a member of the Presbyterian Church, UPW, Valley View Home Demonstration club, American Legion Auxiliary and a 4-H Leader. She liked to cook and baked bread every week. She decorated cakes and was an accomplished seamstress. Dorothy loved flowers and took great pride in her traffic stopping, colorful display at the corner of 3rd and Brassey. She gifted her loved ones with a book of stories and photos compiled over the years detailing her life and family. The last few years of Dorothy’s life were blessed with her beloved friend Fran Crook. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents; brother, Verge; sister, Katherin; and son-in-law, Garry Roberts. She is survived by son, Larry (Susan) Kalina, Lewistown; daughter, Colene Roberts, Nodaway IA; grandchildren, Kathy (Brent) Bibler, Lewistown, Heidi (Andy) Damjanovich, Belgrade, MT, Stacey (Mike) Mullins, Brookville, OH, and Erin (Chris) Taylor, Villisca, IA; great grandchildren, Keeley Bibler, Owen and Ainsley Damjanovich, Carter Taylor and Vera Mullins; brother, George Fogle, Billings, MT; sister, Elaine (Paul) Satterstrom, WA; also several nieces and nephews, many cousins and a community of friends. Services for Dorothy E. Kalina will be held at 2:00 p.m., September 6, 2019 at the Creel Funeral Home Chapel in Lewistown, MT with inurnment to follow at Central Montana Memorial Gardens.
