Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 7 from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Charles Plaster officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Dorothy Eloise Stephenson was born October 4, 1926 in Karnak, N.D., the daughter of Stephan and Clara Stephenson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Dorothy Eloise Stephenson was born October 4, 1926 in Karnak, N.D., the daughter of Stephan and Clara Stephenson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended school at Luverne and at Akers Business College in Grand Forks. She was employed by the Great Norther Railroad. On April 12, 1945 she married Howard Jorgenson in Luverne. They farmed near Luverne until 1948, when they moved to Valley City. They lived on the farm in the summer time. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the A.L.C.W. of the church. She was a member of the Sheyenne Valley Handicapped Club and served as secretary/treasurer. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Harriet (Mrs. Jerome) Johnson and Judy (Mrs. Gordon) Anderson, both of Valley City; and Joyce (Mrs. Tatsuya) Saji of St. Paul, Minn.; her mother and step-father, Clara and Nels Jorgensen of Chasley; A brother, Norman Stephenson of Baltimore, MD; two half-brothers, Nels Jorgensen of Eugene, OR; and David Jorgensen of Grafton; a half-sister, Mrs. Sidney Rictala of Lonsdale, Minn.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. Friends may call at Oliver’s Chapel after 1 p.m. Sunday, February 6. Published in the Valley City Times-Record, Valley City, North Dakota February 4, 1983.
