She died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. The daughter of Fred and Louisa (Meyer) Gaskin was born Jan. 6, 1911 in Ceresco. She attended school at Hay Springs. She married Edward Barr on Nov. 2, 1928 at Bridgeport. The couple moved to Norfolk in 1929. She was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. until retiring in 1969. Mrs. Barr was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member and past noble grand of Deborah Rebekah Lodge 66. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Senior Citizens Center. Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Maryann and Paul Furley of Norfolk; one daughter-in-law, Donna Barr of Barrhead, Alberta, Canada, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991, three sons, one grandchild and one brother. Memorials are directed to the Senior Citizens Center or Hospice. all spelling and punctuation as it appeared in the paper (GH)
