She grew up in West Point and on October 14, 1947 was united in marriage to Harvey Ortmeier at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, NE. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, its Ladies Guild, Catholic Daughters, and was a charter member of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards with family, going to coffee with her friends, and bird watching. She loved to laugh, had a terrific sense of humor, and she had a very strong faith. Dorothy loved her family and following her grandchildren's activities. Survivors include- Son- Glen (Jan) Ortmeier of West Point, NE children and grandchildren, Jill (Matt) Montgomery and Cole, Nina (Scott) McKenzie and Mia, and Brock (Rebecca) Ortmeier and Quinn Daughter-Audrey and husband Jim Suing of Omaha, NE children and grandchildren, Brent (Jess) Suing and Colby, Brianne Suing, Blake (Amy) Suing, and Ben (Molly) Suing and Amelia and Sullivan Daughter-Marva and husband Doug Dunning f Omaha, NE children, Julie (Luc) Farmer, Steve (Molly) Dunning, and Paul Dunning Son-Warren and wife Joyce Ortmeier of West Point, NE and daughters, Kristine Ortmeier and Abby Ortmeier Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents-Alfred and Mary Schlecht, husband-Harvey on August 21, 1998, and two brothers-Jerome "Bud" Schlecht and Dennis Schlecht.
