Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake with Reverend Terry Drew officiating. The organist will be Phyllis Niemann with special music by Carey Holt and Reverend Terry Drew. Honorary pallbearers and active pallbearers will be Dorothy's grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kelly Hento, Greg Hento, Tim Hento, Billie Jo Gauger, Michele Lauseng, Melissa Kline, Lindsey Barthel, Philip Boeke, Scott Boeke and Curt Boeke; and her great grandchildren: Wyatt Gauger, Ryker Gauger, Ashlyn Kline, Brynn Kline, Tytian Lauseng, Kenna Lauseng, Dreesen Hento, Bridger Hento, Ben Barthel, Jed Barthel and Emma Boeke. Dorothy Grace Boeke was born to Gustav and Elizabeth (Prange) Hamann on August 26, 1921 in rural Deuel County, South Dakota. She attended rural school through the eighth grade and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1939. Following high school Dorothy worked for several families and during World War II she worked at the Deuel County Courthouse. She married Carl Patton Boeke on February 3, 1948 in Hendricks, Minnesota. Dorothy worked with Carl on the family farm for many years, along with raising their four children. Dorothy was a member of the UCC Congregational Church and ladies aide. Dorothy is survived by her children, Ramona (Rich) Hento of Mitchell, SD, Wayne (Colleen) Boeke of Clear Lake, Charles (Lisa) Boeke of Loup City, NE and Neal (Carman) Boeke of Clear Lake; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, LeRoy (Lois) Hamann of Baxter, MN; and two brothers-in-law, Harlan and Duane Boeke. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Boeke on June 26, 2001; and her father and mother-in-law, Charles and Leona Boeke. - Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel
