Read More	Dorothy Irene Klucas, 82, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away with family by her side at Ava’s Hospice House on Monday February 8, 2021. Born in Brookings to Reginald and Goldie (Bain)Beynon on November 16, 1938. Attended Central High School in Watertown. Married Eugene Klucas on October 16, 1955. Together they had two daughters, Brenda Lee Mittendorf (Craig) & Joy Jolene Eben (Ron). Dorothy’s love was absolutely pure and unending for her family, daycare kids, and friends. She had a tender heart with so much love to share. Dorothy was united in marriage with Eugene Klucas on October 16, 1955 in Watertown, SD. The couple remained in Watertown and began to raise their family. Dorothy worked at the Zesto, Star Laundry, and 13 years at Herberger’s in Watertown. The family moved to Sioux Falls in 1969, where Dorothy began an in- home daycare. Her love of children and their families kept her busy for 35 years, touching the lives of over 75 children. She was one of the most sought out daycare providers in western Sioux Falls, and never had to advertise her services due to the love of the parents she helped. Some of the parents became lifelong friends. Dorothy loved knitting, crocheting, mahjong, camping, bridge, swimming, ceramics, and dancing with Gene on Saturday nights. Loved collecting, Dickins Houses., birds, gorillas, bells, angels, eggs & dolls. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going on trips to Nashville, DC, Oklahoma, Tennessee, California, Vegas, The Ozarks, Mackinac Island, and many weekend trips to Okoboji to camp. When she was 22, she was crowned Snow Queen through a Herberger’s promotion, and won a trip to Minneapolis. In 1987 she sang in the Billy Graham Crusade (she said, what a feeling). She was a member of Sunnycrest Church, Moose Lodge, and was president of her Monday night bridge club, as well as serving on many committees of Sunnycrest Church. Dorothy was thankful for sharing her dreams with her husband Gene, daughters Brenda Mittendorf (Klucas) and husband Craig and daughter Joy Klucas-Eben and husband Ron and 3 grandchildren (Curtis, Nathan, and Shelbie), all of Sioux falls and 4 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great grand children all of Iowa. Her brother David Beynon (Donna), sisters Regina Gates (Brent), Debbie Hagen (Charlie), brother in law, Casper Klucas (Rose Escano), brother in law Raymond Carter(Diane), and many nieces and nephews. Along with several grand Furbabies Dorothy was preceeded in death by her husband Eugene, her parents, Goldie, and Reginald Beynon, in laws, Leonard and Grace Klucas, her brother Thomas Beynon and his wife Frances, sister, Geraldine Beynon (Carter), brother-in-law Richard Klucas and wife Mary, sister-in-law Joyce Klucas, and nieces Dori Anne Beynon, Angela (Beynon) Schliesman, Crissy Hagen. Visitation with family present will be Thursday, February 11th at Miller Funeral Home (West Side Chapel) the 6200 E 41st Street (masks required). 4:30pm – 7:00pm.
