Her husband, Allie Ike Mattox, died in 1966, and a son, Michael, died in 1945. Mrs. Mattox was born Oct. 31, 1906, in Portland and lived in Clark County for 80 years. She was the oldest daughter of S.L. Dollar for which Dollars Corner, the unincorporated area near Battle Ground, was named. She was a charter member of the Henry Wentworth Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, a past royal matron of Order of Amaranth and a 50-year member of both the Manor Grange and Rebekah Lodge in Battle Ground. Mrs. Mattox was also a member of the Manor and Battle Ground garden clubs. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy J. Barnes and Susan Gain, both of Battle Ground; two sons, LeRoy of Battle Ground and Leonard of Vancouver; two brothers, Ronald Dollar of Lincoln City, Ore., and Bob Dollar of Battle Ground; one sister, Ruth Darrow of Battle Ground; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel. The casket will be open until 6 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wilson Bridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to North County Community Food Bank, 701 E. Main St., Battle Ground, WA 98604; or charity of donors choice.
