Dorothy was born on November 15, 1922, in Amelia, Nebraska, the daughter of Michael Matthew and Jane Catherine (Rotherham) Langan. Following her graduation from St. Mary's High School, O'Neill, Nebraska. Dorothy taught in rural schools until her marriage. Dorothy was born on November 15, 1922, in Amelia, Nebraska, the daughter of Michael Matthew and Jane Catherine (Rotherham) Langan. Dorothy was a member of Sacred Heart Parish where she was active in the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America and the Legion of Mary. She was a Life Member of the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, especially bridge, and visiting with her friends. Dorothy is survived by: children and their spouses, Gerald, Jr. and Diane Sobotka, of Norfolk, Nebraska, Jack and Joyce Sobotka, of Norfolk, Nebraska, Mary and Roger Wilson, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jane Sobotka, of Omaha, Nebraska and Gary Sobotka, of Vermillion, South Dakota; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lowell Henggeler, of Fremont, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Adell Langan, of Abilene, Texas and a host of relatives and friends. Dortohy was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Gerald Sobotka; great granddaughter, brothers, Joe and James Anthony "Jim" Langan, sisters, Joan Henggeler, Mary DeWitt Fairchild and Bernadine Schneider and one niece. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk, Nebraska.
