"News Tribune (Keyser, W.Va.), Wednesday 8 February 2006: "Dorothy Jean Blackburn, 79, formerly of East 35th Street, Baltimore and most recently of 195 Kelly Avenue, Westernport, Md., passed away Tuesday 7 February 2006 at her residence in Westernport. Born 15 February 1926 in Westernport she was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Theresa L. (Gillespie) Blackburn. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marguerite Blackburn and Marie Lyons. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of St. Peter's High School, Westernport. She was a former member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport and presently a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Baltimore. Miss Blackburn retired with 46 years of service after never missing a day of work as a medical assistant for her close friend, Dr. William F. Renner. She enjoyed traveling and taking care of everyone in her family. She leaves behind two nieces, Sally Phillips and husband Richard of LaVale, Md., and Peggy Harrison and husband Jack of Westernport with whom she resided. She is also survived by her great nephews and nieces, Rob Harrison, Robin Yazdani and husband, Farzad, William Frye Jr., Penny Davis and husband Jim, Margie Jefferies and husband, Brandon; numerous great-great nieces and nephews and her close friend, Dr. William F. Renner of Baltimore. The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church on Friday at 11 a.m. with Father John Lesnick as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport."
