Description	:	She was the daughter of the late Harry and Annie Sightler Dowd. She was a member of Gaston First Baptist Church. She loved to cook, spend time with family and friends and fishing. She was loved so much by everyone that knew her. Survivors include two sons: Richard (Betty) Williamson and Larry (Carol) Williamson; daughter: Linda (Harvel) Sightler all of Gaston; brother: Jack (Annie) Dowd; sister: Barbara Backman; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 PM on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Gaston First Baptist Church in Gaston, with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The casket was placed in the church at 1 PM one hour before the funeral where the family received friends. At all other times the family received friends at the home of Richard and Betty Williamson, 123 Wayne Street, Gaston, SC 29053. Special thanks go to Dr. William Brealey, Dr. Chelsea Stillwell and the Eighth Floor Oncology Staff at Lexington Medical Center and to her special friend and caregiver Vickie Ellisor. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Gaston First Baptist Church, 121 Oakey Springs Drive, Gaston, SC 29053.
