She enjoyed making friends at DMA Plaza, walking Old Town, organizing BINGO nights and coffee chats, NASCAR and playing Uno Attack with her family. Jean is survived by: Kile and Laura Snider, Gwyn, Reilly and Natasha; Lora Childers, (Scott McWilliams), Jennifer, and Marissa Childers. Born in Marshalltown, Iowa to Ralph and Gladys Quillin, Jean moved to Des Moines, Iowa after completing school. There she met the love of her life, Fred Snider after they were introduced by a cigar store owner. They were married in 1962. Jean and Fred adopted and adored their two children, Kile and Lora. In addition to working for various companies in administrative roles, Jean was a talented church organist for 25 years. When grandchildren were born, Jean was a devoted and supportive "Nana." Her children and five grandchildren were unconditionally loved. She was the connection with family traditions for future generations. When Mr. Snider died in 2004, Jean bravely moved to Fort Collins, Colo. to be near her son and his family and have a Colorado adventure. She enjoyed making friends at DMA Plaza, walking Old Town, organizing BINGO nights and coffee chats, attending church services with family, and NASCAR. Jean also enjoyed making friends at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab where she lived during her last year where she felt loved by the caring staff. Jean is survived by her Fort Collins family: Kile and Laura Snider, Gwyn, Reilly and Natasha; Charlie Snider, Tara Parr; and Emily Brown. Her Des Moines family includes: Lora Childers and Scott McWilliams, Jennifer and Marissa; and Georgeann Lage (formerly of Fort Collins). A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 First Presbyterian Church in Fort Collins.
