Description	:	Dorothy Katherine (Baldwin) Neill, age 95 of Modale, Iowa passed away Friday July 27, 2012 at the Humboldt Care Center South in Humboldt, Iowa. She was born on the "Hester" farm to Rena Hester Baldwin and David Baldwin on July 10, 1917. Rena's grandfather, Stephen Hester, came to Iowa by way of the Mississippi River to the Missouri River and settled in Harrison County in 1853. Read More	Dorothy Katherine (Baldwin) Neill, age 95 of Modale, Iowa passed away Friday July 27, 2012 at the Humboldt Care Center South in Humboldt, Iowa. She was born on the "Hester" farm to Rena Hester Baldwin and David Baldwin on July 10, 1917. Rena's grandfather, Stephen Hester, came to Iowa by way of the Mississippi River to the Missouri River and settled in Harrison County in 1853. Chambers Hester, Dorothy's grandfather was raised on the home place from 1853 to 1924. Rena and David lived in the same house as her father, and Dorothy, the youngest of eight children was born and raised there. Dorothy attended Modale School and on May 30, 1934 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Neill. They lived within a mile of the home place and four children were born to this union .Several years later they moved back to the home place were the family grew up. With the exception of a few years Dorothy lived most of her 95 years on the "Home Place". Dorothy and Wilbur received the Century Farm Award in 1978 and.in 2008 Dorothy, JoAnn and Duane received the Heritage Farm Award. Not only owning the land for over 150 years but also having a direct relative living on the land. The land was homesteaded in the 1850's from the U.S. Government for $1.25 an acre. She was visiting her daughter in Humboldt in the fall of 2008 when she fell and broke her hip. She has been in the Care Center South where she passed away. Dorothy was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother she will be missed by family and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by husband Wilbur, son Jerrold, grandsons Mark and Tobi, and daughter-in-law Marlene Neill Brothers Clarence, Donald, Kenneth, Francis and Paul. Sisters Beatrice Cleaver and Vera Spencer. Dorothy is survived by daughter: Joann and husband Kay Kollmorgen of Humboldt, Iowa sons; Jerome Neill of Modale, Iowa and Duane Neill of Modale, Iowa. ten grandchildren: Renee (Brad) King, Jeff (Shelly) Neill and Greg Neill. Lori (Mike) Williams Tammy (Mark) Darling and Marvin (Tammy) Neill. Paul (Julie) Kollmorgen, Anne (Eric) Johnson, John (Lori) Kollmorgen. Kathi Neill. Nineteen great grandchildren: Whitney, Jessie, Jordan and Caitlyn Neill. Jennifer, Jeremy, Jaclyn, Cody Amber Colton, Colby Neill and Jacob Wiederin. Lukas, Sydney, Kallie Kollmorgen, Carter, Ella Johnson and Nate and Zack Kollmorgen. Two great-great grandchildren Brayden Neill and Hadleigh Krum; daughter –in-laws: Janet Neill and Sharon Neill.
