Description	:	Dorothy Louise Tenney, 77, of the Stringtown community, Belington, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born Oct. 12, 1928, at the Berryburg community, , a daughter of the late Porter Lovett and Mable Pauline (Weaver) Cross. On Jan. 10, 1947, she was married to William Linn Tenney, who preceded her in death July 28, 1995. Sam Houston, Texas, David (Debbie) Tenney of Carlisle, Pa., Timothy Tenney and Mark (Vickie) Tenney, both of Elkins, and Matthew Tenney, U.S. Army, in Iraq; five daughters, Louise (Bill) Edmond, Florence (Robert) Cooper and Anna (Curtis) Moore, all of Belington, Rosmarie (Bertsell) Cathell of Philippi and Evelyn (David) Thorn of Elkins; two brothers, Junior Cross and Bill Cross, both of Belington; six sisters, Shirley Kelley of Elkins, Jennie Cline of Parkersburg, Sarah Tenney of Canton, Ga., Edna Cross of Belington, Wilma Shue of Elkins and Hallie Shahan of Belington; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alvin Tenney; and by one brother, Melvin Cross. Mrs. Tenney was a homemaker and was a former emergency medical technician for the Belington Emergency Squad. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Laurel Mountain Post 410, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of H.W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion. She formerly attended the Stringtown United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted from the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Ave., Belington, at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18. The Rev. Jim Tallman and the Rev. David Brown will officiate and interment will follow in Stringtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
