Funeral services for Dorothy will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Pastor Debra Lind-Schmitz will officiate the services. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church. The Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is handling the arrangements for Dorothy's family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue or Amenity Hospice of Cedar Rapids in Dorothy's name. Dorothy Louise Doerres was born on March 8, 1916 in Lone Tree, the daughter of Albert "Bert" and Elizabeth (Jarrard) Doerres. Dorothy was a 1933 graduate of Lone Tree High School. On February 14, 1935, Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Musser in West Liberty. She was a homemaker. Dorothy was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree where she taught Sunday School for many years and served in offices of Church Women's Group, Carnation Rebekah Lodge of Iowa City and as a 50+ year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy was also a Cub Scout and Brownie leader. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children, Kay Mincer and her husband, Gary of Riverside and Krista Levell and her husband, Don of Coralville; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Louis Von Woglom of Houston, Texas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1984; one son, DeWayne in 1974; one daughter, Karyl in 1990; three brothers, Dewayne, Warren and Donald; and one sister, Dorigan.
