Mrs. Stadtmueller died Dec. 8 at the Anamosa Care Center, following an extended illness. Dorothy L. Egger was born Sept. 18,1907, near Monticello, the daughter of Adolph and Mayme Schatz Egger. She received her education in the Monticello area schools and graduated from the Monticello High School. She then taught in the rural schools of Jones County, and later worked for several companies in Dubuque and Cedar Rapids. Dorothy L. Egger and Edward J. Stadtmueller were married Dec. 14, 1940, in Dubuque. The couple farmed in Cass Township until Mr. Stadtmueller retired in 1970 and they moved to Monticello. Mr. Stadtmueller died July 25, 1983. Mrs. Stadtmueller continued to live in Monticello until she became a resident at the Anamosa Care Center. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Monticello. Mrs.Stadtmueller is survived by two step-children, James Stadtmueller of Monticello and Mrs. Gloria Ford of Anamosa; seven step-grandchildren; three great-step grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Barnett and Mrs. Anna McChristy, both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and a step-grandson. Casket bearers were Edward Siebels, Donald Monk, Terry Egger, Jerry McChristy, Donald McChristy and Steve Egger.
