Description	:	Dorothy Louise Johnson (Spiker) Groves was born on 27 June 1925 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Herman and Lola May (Brown) Johnson. She died on 13 Apr 1987 in Rural Keokuk, Iowa, as a result of an accident when she was struck by a simi truck on highway 61. She was married to Roswell E. Spiker 12 Jan 1942, but it ended in a divorce. There were seven children born to this union. She was married to Vernon W. Groves 14 July 1968. There were no children from this union. She lived in Keokuk until 1967 when she moved to Montrose where she lived the rest of her life. Dorothy had been employed by Sheller-Globe Co. for the past 14 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Montrose, and a member of the United Rubber workers Local 444. Survivors include sons Elmer Spiker of Douds, Iowa; Michael Spiker of Montrose; daughters Mrs. Joseph (Marie) Groves of Linneous, MO.; Mrs. Kenneth (Georgia Ann) Varner of Camanche, Iowa, and Donna Luginbuhl of Seattle, WA.; step-sons Frank and Joseph Groves; step-daughters Dorothy Lee Coovert, Mary Ann Wrieden, Ida Parrish, Helen Egley, and Maxine Rossiter; 48 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brothers George Johnson of Omaha, Neb. Herman Johnson Jr. of Keokuk, and Virgil Johnson of Minneapolis, MN. Sisters Margaret Henson of Warsaw, IL. Katherine Spiker of Argule, and Jeanette Ealey of Wapello. She was preced in death by her husbands, Ross and Vernon; a brother, John Arthur Johnson, a grandson, Joseph Groves Jr, a daughter Mary Ellen Spiker Dawson, a son David L. Spiker and two step-sons. She was buried in Scandinavian Cemetery in rural Keokuk.
