Dorothy graduated from Seward High School in 1939. On August 16, 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage to Wilbur Suhr at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, NE. Dorothy taught the third grade at three different rural schools near Seward from 1943-1945. She then worked as a rural postal carrier in the Seward area for 27 years. Dorothy graduated from Seward High School in 1939. On August 16, 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage to Wilbur Suhr at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, NE. Dorothy also helped Wilbur on their farm. Dorothy was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church and also Seward V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was also a supervisor for the Seward County Fair Open Class Exhibits and received a plaque for service in 1993. Dorothy passed away on October 19, 2014 in Seward, NE at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 13 days. She is survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Sandra Suhr, Seward, NE; brother-in-law, Alvin Suhr, Seward, NE; sister-in-law, Phyllis Suhr, Seward, NE. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar R. and Elizabeth Prochnow; husband, Wilbur Suhr; brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Esther Prochnow; sisters and brother-in-laws, Marie and Alois Bader; Mildred and Iven Fritz; sister, Norma Prochnow; infant sister, Wilma Prochnow; sister-in-law, Betty Suhr; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dale and Betty Suhr, Irene and Carl Matzner, Elverna and Floyd Baack; brothers-in-law, Wayne Suhr, Lloyd Suhr.
