She enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting and embroidery work, and was famous for her potato salad. Dorothy M. Dowling, 92, of Martinsburg, NE passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, NE. Survivors include 4 sons, Francis Dowling of Wallace, NE, Ronnie and Darlene Dowling of Carl Junction, MO, Rick and Mikki Dowling of Wausa, NE, and Kenneth and Gloria Dowling of Allen, NE; 4 daughters, Cheri and Merle Krusemark of Wakefield, NE, Peg and Dick McCoy of Allen, NE, Cathy Pond of Martinsburg, and Sandy and Steve Sullivan, Sr. of Martinsburg, NE; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lorna Whalen; her husband, Kenneth Dowling; daughter-in-law, Diane Dowling; grandson, Chad Sullivan; and siblings, Virginia Brown, Geraldine Caster and Gene Whalen. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ponca, NE with Father Andrew L. Sohm officiating. Burial will be in Calvary at South Creek Cemetery in rural Ponca. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a Rosary service at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE.
