Mrs. King, 61, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, at Audubon County Hospital following a car accident in Audubon County. Her daughter, Jody King, was killed in the accident. The Revs. Paul Kelly and Merlin Schrad will officiate the Mass. Lector will be Kim Knobbe. Gift bearers will be Katelyn Knobbe, Molly King, Jennie King, Karla Knobbe and Danielle Knobbe. Casket bearers will be Jim Heithoff, Ronald Beyerink, Ronnie Anthofer, Bob Broich, Ken Heithoff and Randy Wegner. Honorary casket bearers will be Ed Halbur, Donald Irlmeier, Ron Wurzer, Albert Moiler, Arnold Palmer, Hap Palmer, Ted Coulter and Joe Tigges. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery at Coon Rapids. Friends will call after 3 p.m. on Sunday at Ohde Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. Rosaries will be recited at 4 and 5 p.m. Sunday and a prayer service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A daughter of Edward and Katherine (Kasparbauer) Irlbeck, she was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Carroll County. She graduated from St. Joseph School in Dedham, graduating in 1949. She later earned a GED and completed two years at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny. On Aug. 31, 1957, she and Merlin Louis King were married at St. Joseph Church in Dedham. They lived on Mr. King’s family farm near Kiron then moved to a farm in Viola Township near Coon Rapids. Mrs. King worked for Ocoma Foods in Carroll and the Armour Creamery in Coon Rapids. During the harvest season, she worked for Garst Seed Co. Mrs. King was a member of Annunciation Parish in Coon Rapids. Survivors include her sons: Ronald King, and his wife, Von, of Coon Rapids, Dennis King, and his wife, Jerrine, of Coon Rapids, Douglas King and his wife, Cheryl, of Coon Rapids and Randall King and his wife, Ronna, of Glidden; a daughter, Janice Knobbe, and her husband, Kenneth, of Auburn; 11 grandchildren: Nicholas King, Matthew King, Jennie King, Ben King, Jason King, Mollie King, Danielle King, Ryan King, Katelyn Knobbe, Jordan Knobbe and Karla Knobbe; her mother, Katherine Irlbeck, of Dedham; three sisters: Katherine Dentlinger and her husband, Norman, of Coon Rapids, Angeline Gassman, and her husband, Joseph, of Lake City and Dorene Biederman of Council Bluffs; two brothers: Donald Irlbeck and his wife, Elaine, of Dedham and Edward Irlbeck Jr. and his wife, Rose, of Dedham; and a brother-in-law, Terry McDowell, of Kirkman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin, in 1981; an infant twin daughter, Judy; her father, Edward Irlbeck; and a sister, Darlene McDowell.
