Description	:	SCHUPBACH, DOROTHY MAE—Dorothy Mae Rayls was born to William Rayls and Anna Melchow on October 11, 1908, at Charleston, York county, Nebraska and passed away on August 28, 1978, at Geneva at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 21 days. Dorothy was one of 12 children in the family. Dorothy grew up in York where she attended York city schools. At the age of 16 she went to work at the York Telephone company where she worked for six years. After her marriage, she moved to Geneva where her two children were born. Dorothy was one of 12 children in the family. Dorothy grew up in York where she attended York city schools. At the age of 16 she went to work at the York Telephone company where she worked for six years. After her marriage, she moved to Geneva where her two children were born. In 1937 the family moved to Hastings where she attended Bonnell Beauty Academy and became a licensed beautician. Then, after moving back to Geneva, she worked with Frances Linder Brahmsteadt at the LaSalle Beauty shop for seven years. In 1945 she operated a beauty shop in Fairmont which she operated until 1946. She then worked with Pat Cumberland for 18 years. In 1967 she began her own beauty shop which she operated until her retirement in 1974. Dorothy was married to Raymond Schupbach of Geneva on July 5, 1930, and to them two children was born. She was preceded in death by her father, William, and two brothers, John and Joseph. She is survived by the following: husband, Raymond Schupbach of Geneva; daughters, Delores Jo Tesar and husband, Jerry, of Lincoln, and Judith Ann Stewart and husband, J. R., of Geneva; mother, Mrs. Anna Rayls of York; brothers, Jacob Rayls of York, Bert Rayls of Coldwater, Mich., and William Rayls of Oynx, Cal., sisters, Mrs. Bruce (Virginia) Todd of McCool, Mrs. Harold (Ruby) Mason of Gardena, Cal., Mrs. Van (Doris) Johnson of Waco, Mrs. Victor (Verna) Bunderson of York, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Neujhar of Colby, Ill., and Mrs. Kenneth (Connie) Bruns of Palm Springs, Cal., six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Besides her family, she leaves to mourn a multitude of dear, dear friends, who, in her time of need, gave comfort and strength to aid her through her lingering illness. Her warm, radiant smile, her kind, thoughtful ways and her strong faith in God will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her first thoughts were always for her family, helping and aiding them through the many emergencies of life, never letting them down, but always showing the divine strength with which God had blessed her. She was a patient and loving grandmother, who, like many other grandmothers, believed that to spoil a child, was to love a child. Her warm and wonderful ways will be sadly missed, but they too will always be remembered. Services were held at the Prince of Peace Lutheran church on Thursday, August 31, 1978, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Woodrow Wilson officiating. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Organist was Mrs. Bernita Lomax; vocalist, Mrs. Lorri Waldron; music requested, “The Lord’s Prayer” and “He". The Nebraska Signal 7th September 1978 page 5
