She died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005 at her residence. Born Oct. 17, 1919, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of Guy Alfred and Bessie Mikesell Lilly. She was married June 21, 1941, in Carroll County, to Roy T. Tomlin, who preceded in death May 27, 1989. Dorothy had lived in the White and Carroll county community since 1978, coming from Munster. A 1937 graduate of Monticello High School, Dorothy had worked at the Simmons Mattress Company in the accounts payable department for 20 years. During World War II, she worked on the assembly line at Bryan Manufacturing in Monticello. She was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church in Monticello, the New Hope Women Quilting Group and White County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Dorothy loved quilting and gardening. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Mejaski and her husband Joe, Osgood, and Paula Korich and her husband Larry, Barrington, R.I.; one brother, Jerry Lilly and his wife, Joyce, Monticello; and five grandchildren. One brother, Burt Lilly, and one sister, Doris Lilly, preceded in death. Pastor George Silvas will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the IOOF Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Lutheran Church.
