Dorothy died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Avera Creighton Hospital in Creighton, NE. Dorothy attended and graduated from Osmond (NE.) High School with the class of 1949. On August 29, 1954, she was married to Alfred G. Doerr at the Osmond (NE.) Methodist Church. The couple was blessed with three children: Gordon (who is a farmer near Brunswick, Nebraska), Tony (who works county maintenance out of Brunswick), and Jerry (who does construction work in Roswell, New Mexico). Dorothy was a housewife for the majority of her life, after briefly teaching school following graduation from high school. She was a dedicated, loyal, and faithful follower of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Dorothy came to know The Lord at the age of nine years, after listening to a minister on the radio ask if anyone would like to invite Jesus into their heart. She was an unafraid witness of what God had done for her and her family through the years. Dorothy is still remembered for the many times she had Monday morning Bible Study for the residents of the Creighton Care Centre in Creighton, NE. Dorothy has finished her race. Dorothy is survived by: sons, Gordon Doerr, Tony (wife LuAnn) Doerr, and Jerry (wife Danielle) Doerr; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Toben of Sioux City, IA.; brothers-in-law, John Toben and Vernon Zautke of Plainview, NE. and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: husband, Alfred Doerr; parents, Alfred and Wanda Wegner; two infant brothers; and sister, Irene Zautke. Graveside services were at the Ewing Cemetery in Ewing, NE.
