Dorothy M. Janes Wilson was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Jamestown, N.D., to Sarah A. Moore and William A. Janes. She was the youngest of their 13 children. Read More	Laurel resident and former Jamestown, N.D., resident Dorothy Maxine "Mickey" Wilson, 94, peacefully left this world May 2, 2012, with her son, Keith and daughter-in-law, Marcella at her side. Dorothy M. Janes Wilson was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Jamestown, N.D., to Sarah A. Moore and William A. Janes. She was the youngest of their 13 children. Raised at Windsor, N.D., on a farm with 12 siblings, Mickey pursued a career in music graduating from the American College of Music Oct. 20, 1931. A talented musician, she often played piano during the evenings for local area bands and entertainment venues. Her all time favorite song throughout the years was "Peg of My Heart." Mickey began a career in cosmetology joining the staff of Mork's Beauty Salon in Jamestown. She met Carroll "Jim" Wilson in the late 1930s. They married May 14, 1941, and decided to live in Jamestown until they ventured a move to Laurel, Mont. Their life together spanned 67 years. In retirement, Mickey continued to play the piano and enjoying time with her family. She tended flower gardens surrounding their Laurel home. Her favorite flowers were calla lily and roses. Always the gentle lady she created a loving environment for her family. Dorothy Wilson was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Judy Wilson; son, James Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Marcella Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Patrick O'Dell; and daughter, Wendy Wilson Krank. She enjoyed her grandchildren, Leah, Preston, J. Arnold, Rhonda, Jeremie, Shawn and Tyler. Her family grew to include great-grandchildren Evan, Corbin, Alana, Parker, Bennett, Mya, Tiffany, Tanner, Wyatt, Trinity, Zachary, Kelsey, Dylan, and Anthony. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll J. Wilson; her mother and father; 12 siblings; grandson Ryan; and great-grandson Eric. Services are set for 1 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel. Dorothy Wilson will be laid to rest next to her husband Carroll at the Laurel Cemetery.
