Dorothy, known by those close to her as Maxine, was born on Sept. 11, 1927, near Joliet, to Charlie and Josephine (Smith) Miller. She spent most of her life living in the Columbus area. Dorothy, known by those close to her as Maxine, was born on Sept. 11, 1927, near Joliet, to Charlie and Josephine (Smith) Miller. She spent most of her life living in the Columbus area. On May 11, 1954, she married her husband, Louie C. Binek. Together they raised a daughter and two sons. Maxine was an amazing, generous and compassionate woman. She ruled with an iron fist and a heart of gold. She lived a simple life and enjoyed many diverse activities, from crafting, sewing and cooking to fishing and woodworking. She was remarkable at repurposing everyday items into treasures. Also, like her father, she enjoyed painting. Most importantly, she was a mother and a grandmother, not only to her own children, but others as well. She was a true matriarch and we were very blessed to have her in all of our lives. God truly broke the mold when he created our mother and grandmother. There could never be anyone as unique as she. We love and will miss you always. Maxine is survived by daughter Noni (Harold) Ask; sons Tony Binek and John Binek; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; siblings Vern (Sheila) Miller, Charlie (Loretta) Miller, Edna (Skid) Gonka, Lillian Osgood and Violet Paulson. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Louie C. Binek and Robert George; siblings Ivan Miller, Gerald Miller, Cecil Miller, Pearl Braley and Sherry Daniels; grandson Robert Ask. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Columbus, immediately followed by graveside services at Mountain View Cemetery. A potluck reception will be held immediately following at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The family would especially like to thank Dr. David Kane, staff of Stillwater Community Hospital/Clinic and staff of Beartooth Community Healthcare for all of their wonderful care of our beloved mother and grandmother, Maxine.
