She attended Vancouver schools, graduating from Vancouver High School in 1939.Dorothy married Casey Hancock in 1940 and they lived in Portland, OR for several years. They moved to Ridgeeld, WA, in the early 50's and lived there for over 30 years. In retirement, they moved to Hazel Dell until four years ago. Farmer Dorothy's family moved to Clark County, WA, in the late 1920's. She attended Vancouver schools, graduating from Vancouver High School in 1939.Dorothy married Casey Hancock in 1940 and they lived in Portland, OR for several years. They moved to Ridgeeld, WA, in the early 50's and lived there for over 30 years. In retirement, they moved to Hazel Dell until four years ago. She then moved to Mallard Landing Assisted Living, and lived there until her death. Dorothy worked for Del Monte Cannery and Jantzen Knitting Mill. She was a member of the Vancouver Moose Lodge for many years, and enjoyed the friendships she made there. She was active, participating in a bowling team, marching unit and with a special group of friends nick named "The Gray Panthers." Dorothy enjoyed friendships she had in Hazel Dell and at Mallard Landing. She loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, her husband Casey and her son John. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Donna (Bob) Prucha of Vancouver, WA and Sharon (Ed) Casteel of Battle Ground, WA, one daughter-in-law, Martha Hancock of Ridgeeld, WA, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy's services will be April 6, 2013, 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA. Donations can be made to Hospice Southwest.
