Hartung, age 88, of Coleridge, NE, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at the Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with Rev. Andreas Stein officiating. Burial will be in the Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service and Video Tribute at 7 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Pallbearers will be Monte Hartung, Chris Hartung, Adam Hartung, Spencer Bose, Garth Paulsen, Paul Richard Hines, Zachary Spahr and Quinn Henderson. Dorothy was born on August 4, 1920, at Coleridge to W. G. and Mary (Nicholson) Hines. She grew up on a farm north of Coleridge and graduated from the Coleridge High School in 1938. She received her Normal Teaching Certificate from Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, NE. She taught country school in Dixon and Cedar counties until her marriage to Marvin Hartung. Dorothy married Herbert Bose on May 25, 1940, in Wayne and then married Marvin Hartung on February 16, 1954, at Coleridge. She and Marvin lived in Coleridge until moving to a farm south of Coleridge in 1960. Marvin died on August 26, 1995, at the age of 70. Dorothy continued living on the farm until 2001, when she moved to the Oaks Assisted Living in Wayne. For the last 5 years she has been a resident of the Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge. Dorothy was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and choir, ELCW, the Coleridge American Legion Auxiliary Post 114, and was a former Girl Scout Leader. Dorothy is survived by 4 children; Herbert (Sharon) Bose of Laurel, NE, Gregory (Nancy) Bose of Uhrichsville, Ohio, Jeff and Julie Hartung of Dixon, NE, Dawn Hartung of Colorado Springs, CO, 8 grandchildren; Stacy Huizenga, Heather Miller, Sheila Spahr, Spencer Bose, Christopher Hartung, Amanda Laing, Adam Hartung, and Quinn Henderson, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Wilma (Charles) Paulsen of Laurel, and Marion Molden of Sioux City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin, a son, Brent Hartung, 3 brothers; J.C., Phil, and Paul Hines, and a sister; Janet Hines.
