She graduated from Winterset High School and married Thomas Pettit on March 2, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1983. Dorothy was a homemaker and member of the New Hope Christian Union Church of Winterset. She was very active in church activities as well as helping at church camps. Rosemarie Mabbitt of Minneapolis, MN; Wanda Hall of Branson, MO; Gloria Mabbitt of Branson, MO; a brother, John (Linda) Mabbitt of Council Bluff; nine grandchildren (Kelly, Tammy, Christina, Dawn, Ray Jr., Jason, Bobby Jo, Courtney and Tony) and 12 great grandchildren (Jenna, Alex, Trenton, Ashleigh, Adam, Brandon, Hunner, Aaron, Breanna, Quentin, Crystal and Anglynna). She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brother (Gene, Donald, Willis and Albert Mabbitt); and one sister (Louise Mabbitt).
