A Gathering of Remembrance for Dorothy Merrett Quebedeaux will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Reverend Toby Ryder will conduct the Memorial Service.
Mrs. Quebedeaux, a resident of Washington, Louisiana, died on Monday, October 1, 2012, at her residence.
Dorothy was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Westpoint, Mississippi. She also owned and operated Dots Diner in Starkville, Mississippi. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Westpoint, Mississippi. She also owned and operated Dots Diner in Starkville, Mississippi. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Lawrence Quebedeaux, of Washington, Louisiana; her sons, Butch Heflin and wife, Jennifer, of Starkville, Mississippi, Mike Heflin and wife, Kathy, of Conroe, Texas, and Eddie Heflin of Starkville, Mississippi; her daughters, Pam Vidrine and husband, Blake, of Opelousas, Louisiana, Paula Milliken and husband, Jack, of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Rita Lalonde and husband, Perry, of Port Barre, Louisiana; her sisters, Larie Erickson of Cumberland, Iowa, Alberta Erickson of Atlantic, Iowa, and Genieva May of Forest Grove, Oregon; and her daughter-in-law, Ann Quebedeaux of Port Barre, Louisiana.
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren: Jamie Guest, Angela Guest, Matt Heflin, Andi Heflin, Ashley Heflin, Mary Murphy, Justin Vidrine and fiance, Natasha Coats, Hunter Vidrine and fiance, Ashley Daigle, Caylie Vidrine and fiance, T.J. LaField, Ashley Lanclos Rouse and husband, Joseph, Amber Lanclos Barrow and husband, Chris, Kevin Lanclos, Crystal Quebedeaux, Tosha Quebedeaux, Lil Darrell Quebedeaux and wife, Margarette, Bergeron Quebedeaux, Jerre Rosenblum, Edward Milliken, and Jessica Milliken; and 15 great-grandchildren: Halie Hightower, Katelyn Hightower, Dustin Vidrine, Ava Vidrine, Bryce Vidrine, Hayden LaField, Amber Barrow, Jayden Barrow, Arianna Lanclos, Brayden Barrow, Paiten Quebedeaux, Jasmine Davis, Trevor Quebedeaux, Christian Bergeron, and Alona Bergeron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Minnie (Cecil) Merrett; her brothers, Glenn Merritt, Carl Merrett, Albert Merritt, and Fletcher Merritt; her sisters, Ina Wilson, Iva Kirkendoel, and Mildred Edwards; her grandchildren, Kevin Heflin, Christine Heflin, Cassie Heflin, and Heather Lanclos; and her stepson, Darrell Quebedeaux. |
