Description	:	Dorothy Muriel Wood, 74, a lifelong Wenatchee area resident, passed away Jan. 23, 2003 at Cashmere Convalescent Center, following a stroke. She was born to Lewis B. and Ivy (Emerson) Tussey on April 11, 1928 at Wenatchee. She was raised in the Palisades, where her father was a Rancher and her mother a Housewife. She was born to Lewis B. and Ivy (Emerson) Tussey on April 11, 1928 at Wenatchee. She was raised in the Palisades, where her father was a Rancher and her mother a Housewife. She graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1947. She was married to James Randall Wood on October 3, 1947 in Wenatchee. They lived in Wenatchee raising five children on a ten acre orchard. Dorothy worked at Family Planning in Wenatchee for the past 18 years, where she was still employed at the time of her illness. She was a hard worker and a devoted person, who gave all of herself to those she loved. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Randall "Randy" Wood; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tana Wood of Wenatchee, Penny and Dan Beattiger and Kellie and David Goetsch, all of East Wenatchee; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Wen-Ling Wood of Wenatchee; one brother, Lewis B. Tussey of Linden, WA; six grandchildren she adored, Holly Goetsch, James and Scott Bland, Aron Beattiger, Evan and Jared Wood. Her latest miracle was a great-grandson to dote on, Chase Bland. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a step-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Gregory Wood; and one brother, James Tussey. Commemoration services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Wenatchee Valley Baptist Church with Chaplain Scott Langager officiating. Concluding services and the interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from noon to 8 p.m. Friends who wish may make memorial donations in her name to the Alpine Boys Ranch. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
