Inurnment will be held in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given in Dorothy’s name to the Cheyenne County Community Center. Dorothy Naomi Loebe, was born in Abbot’s Bromley, England on September 11, 1927, the daughter of Harry and Alice (Smith) Dukes. She was raised and attended school in Abbot’s Bromley. Dorothy met Norbert (Butch) Loebe while he was stationed in England during WWII; they were married in England on December 4, 1944. In the fall of 1946, Dorothy traveled to Sidney with her infant daughter Vera, to join her husband Butch at their new home in Sidney. Even after living 68 years in the United States, Dorothy still had a British accent, and was proud of her heritage. Dorothy worked at Newberry’s Department Store, and then Memorial Hospital and Rest Home and later in life was an in home care giver. Dorothy enjoyed reading, sewing and working in the garden, she was also an avid walker and enjoyed the Silver Sneakers and stretch class at the Cheyenne County Community Center. Dorothy loved spending time with her family, and loved her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters Vera (Terry) Jones of Kimball, NE., and Margaret Meier of Sidney, NE; son Andrew Loebe of Laurel, MT; grandchildren Keith Jones and Brian Jones, Jeff Meier and Stephanie Meier and Megan Miller; 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Evelyn Manners and Maisie Berrisford, daughter-in-law Arlene Loebe and step-granddaughter.--Cantrell Funeral Home
