Description	:	Dorothy Pearl Chapman, the daughter of Herman and Laura (Fowler) Doll, was born on November 6, 1915 at Fairfield, Nebraska. She passed away on December 6, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society in Nelson, Nebraska at the age of 93 years and one month. Dorothy attended and graduated from Fairfield Public School. On October 20, 1935 she was united in marriage to Jake Chapman at her parents home in Fairfield and to this union three children were born, Ward, Bruce and Brenda. Read More	Dorothy Pearl Chapman, the daughter of Herman and Laura (Fowler) Doll, was born on November 6, 1915 at Fairfield, Nebraska. She passed away on December 6, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society in Nelson, Nebraska at the age of 93 years and one month. Dorothy attended and graduated from Fairfield Public School. On October 20, 1935 she was united in marriage to Jake Chapman at her parents home in Fairfield and to this union three children were born, Ward, Bruce and Brenda. She and Jake owned and operated Chapman's IGA in Nelson from 1950 until their retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the UD Club. She enjoyed the outdoors, watching birds, traveling and playing golf. She was a lifetime member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first Great-great-grandchild. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jake on April 21, 1984 and five brothers, Frederick, Virtus, Virgil, Ward and Elmo Doll. She is survived by her children, Ward Chapman and wife Georgie of Nelson, Nebraska, Bruce Chapman and wife Rose Marie of Superior, Nebraska and Brenda Lynch of Nora, Nebraska. Six grandchildren, David Chapman of Hastings, Nebraska, Kim Parnell and husband Rod of Panama, Nebraska, Diane Campbell and husband Rod of Maricopa, Arizona, Matthew Chapman and wife Nicole of Denver, Colorado, Brendt Lynch and wife Becky of Holdrege, Nebraska and Brandon Lynch and wife Tanya of Hickman, Nebraska. Eight great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Edna Doll of Hastings, Nebraska and Muriel Doll of Central City, Nebraska along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ, Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating. Music was "Hymn of Promise", "The King Is Coming" and "Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus)", with Stephanie Thayer as soloist and Carlita Erickson as organist. Pallbearers were David Chapman, Rod Parnell, Matthew Chapman, Brent Lynch, Brandon Lynch and Zach Parnell. Honorary pallbearers were Rod Campbell, Vaden Kramer, Herb Dillman, Wilbur Fowler, Lee Clabaugh and Chris McClure. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska. Memorials may go to the Nelson Community United Church of Christ.
