Description	:	Dorothy (Mrs. Leonard) Becher, 85 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at Morys Haven Nursing Home in Columbus. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011, at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Patrick Sparling and Rev. Kurt Ebert officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Monday, from 9:30 AM until service time at the church, with a family prayer service at 10:15 AM. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran School or Church. Dorothy was born April 6, 1925, in Battle Creek, Nebraska, to Fred and Mabel (Warnke) Preusker. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. After graduating from Battle Creek High School, Dorothy attended business college in Norfolk, Nebraska, on a one year scholarship. Prior to her marriage to Leonard Becher on October 20, 1946, Dorothy worked for an attorney in Norfolk. After her marriage, Dorothy worked for the telephone company. When Dorothy and Leonard started a family, Dorothy became a stay at home mom. She returned to work as a waitress at King's Restaurant in 1967 after the youngest child entered school. She retired in 1990. Dorothy enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, going out to eat, going to the movies, was active in TOPS, and a member of the Ladies Aid at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Dorothy is survived by: Daughter - Bev (Jim) Tollefsen of Aurora, NE Son - Steve (Caroline) Becher of Lenexa, KS Daughter - Teresa Lange of Grand Island, NE 7 Grandchildren Sister-in-law - Lorna Warnke of Meadow Grove, NE Son-in-law - Lloyd Lange of Grand Island, NE Dorothy was preceded in death by: Parents - Fred and Mabel Preusker Husband - Leonard Becher on March 10, 2011 Sister - Lois Osten Brother - Robert Preusker
