Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth, with the Rev. Raymond Burkle officiating and Rev. Carl Ries concelebrating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She married Raymond J. Biermann on Jan. 15, 1935, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna; he died on Dec. 20, 1990. She received her education in the New Vienna area schools. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, Epworth, and its Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn (Dave) Hawkins, of Cascade; six sons, Robert (LaVonne) Biermann and Kenneth (Donna) Biermann, both of Farley, Donald (Janet) Biermann and LeRoy (Shirley) Biermann, both of Peosta, Paul (Kathy) Biermann, of Epworth, and Mark Biermann, of Des Moines; a daughter-in-law, Doris Biermann, of Epworth; 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Herbert (Alvina) Ries, of Dyersville, and Arthur (Louise) Ries, of New Vienna; four sisters, Loretta Brunsmann, of Dyersville, Francis (Bernice) Gassmann, of Strawberry Point, and Alma Brunsmann and Esther Steffen, both of Manchester; and two sisters-in-law, Mercedes Ries, of Dubuque, and Delores Biermann, of Dyersville. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dave Biermann, on Jan. 19, 2001; two granddaughters, Geri Kay Clemen and Jill Biermann; three brothers, Alphonse (Gertrude) Ries, Vincent Ries and Clarence Ries; and three brothers-in-law, Cletus Brunsmann, Elmer Brunsmann and Artie Steffen.
