Read More	Dorothy Lea (Russell) Walker Denton WESTFIELD - Dorothy (Russell) Denton, 88, of Westfield and long time resident of South Hadley passed away peacefully on March 13th. Born in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of Robert H. Russell and Florence L. Russell. She was a graduate of Northfield, earned an Associates in Fine Arts from Stephens College and her Bachelors in Fine Arts from Syracuse University. Dolly dedicated many years of her life volunteering her time and talents. She served the Red Cross in Korea, the Junior League of Holyoke, the Holyoke Hospital Auxiliary, her church and devoted a number of years to Cooley Dickenson Hospital's gardens. Gardening was her passion and she beautified each place she called home. Her interests in art, music, and horticulture combined well with her enjoyment of travel, including much of the U.K. and Europe. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gordon Walker, and by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Denton . She leaves her loving family - sons, Kenneth Denton of Beacon, NY and Henry Denton of Westfield, MA, her cherished grand daughters, Lindsay Denton of Somerville, MA and Seneca Denton of Westfield, MA, her brother Robert Russell of South Hadley and her sister Jean Duncan of Northampton. Family and friends will gather at Center Church in South Hadley on March 28th at 2:00 p.m. for a Memorial Service followed by a reception and sharing of memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church, One Church Street. South Hadley MA 01075 or Holyoke Medical Center, 20 Hospital Drive, Holyoke, MA 01040.
