Description	:	Dorothy S. Andrews was born August 4, 1919 in Carroll, Iowa the daughter of Otis Robert and Rosella (Shea) Andrews. She graduated from the St. Angela Academy High School in 1938 and then graduated from St. Anthony's Nursing School in 1942, both in Carroll. In 1943 she graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Anesthesia in LaCrosse, Wis. as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. After graduation she practiced anesthesiology in Carroll. Read More	Dorothy S. Andrews was born August 4, 1919 in Carroll, Iowa the daughter of Otis Robert and Rosella (Shea) Andrews. She graduated from the St. Angela Academy High School in 1938 and then graduated from St. Anthony's Nursing School in 1942, both in Carroll. In 1943 she graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Anesthesia in LaCrosse, Wis. as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. After graduation she practiced anesthesiology in Carroll. She was a member of the American Association of National Anesthetists. On August 8, 1945 Dorothy married Air Force Master Sargent Max. H. Schumacher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Carroll. Soon after Max's honorable discharge he became an executive for Allstate Insurance. This work took them to several cities, Chicago, Milwaukee, Wis, Cleveland, Ohio and Arlington Heights, Ill., to name a few. They retired in Plano, Texas. After Max's death in 1982, Dorothy moved to Spencer, where she resided until May 1997. At that time she moved to Methodist Manor in Storm Lake. Dorothy and Max enjoyed golfing, gardening, bowling and traveling. While in Spencer, Dorothy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Spencer Golf and Country Club. After moving to Storm Lake she became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her family includes two brothers: Robert and his wife Sandy Andrews of Spencer and Wayne and his wife Bernice Andrews of Storm Lake; five nieces and their husbands: Barbara and Jerome Rathke of Lockport, Ill., Jane and Gus Erickson of Bellevue, Neb., Mary Beth and Mick Polich of Atlanta, Ga., Patricia and Joe Zielinski of Ottawa, Ill. and Amy and Greg Vander Meulen of Denver, Colo.; eight great-nieces and nephews and seven great-greatnieces and nephews. Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents and her husband.
