Funeral services were today (Monday) in St. John's Catholic Church at Rosholt with the Rev. Dennis Deis officiating. Burial was in the St. Nicholas Cemetery, rural Rosholt. Pallbearers were Paul Braun, David Karl, Tony Braun, Leo Braun, Joe Braun, Rocky Bullis, Dick Braun and Elroy Klein. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt was in charge of arrangements. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt was in charge of arrangements. Dorothy Veronica was born Feb. 9, 1940, at Petersburg, Neb., to Joseph and Rose (Scherbring) Scholl. She attended rural school near Loretta, Neb., two years of parochial school in Spalding, Neb., and two years in Elgin, Neb., graduating in 1958. Aug. 29, 1959, she married Maurice Braun at Spalding. After their marriage, they moved to Rosholt to the Braun family farm. They farmed as well as raising cattle and pigs. They moved into Rosholt in 1996 and built a new home in 1998. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister and on the Altar Society. She was actively involved in the Rosary Makers, the choir and the decorating committee. She was also a member of the Robert's County Pork Producers and Rosholt Area Threshermen's Association. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, sewing, quilting, making rosaries, flowers and animals. In their later years, she and her husband enjoyed dancing and traveling. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis King and an infant daughter, Mary. Survivors include her husband, Maurice of Rosholt; four children, Joyce and Wayne Metzen of Wahpeton, N.D., Marlys and Bill Nicolai of Milnor, N.D., Tim Braun of Rosholt and Natalie and Mike Fulton of Wellington, New Zealand; one son-in-law, Bernard King of Wyndmere, N.D.; 10 grandchildren; and four sisters, Marcella Becker of Albion, Neb., Bonnie and Don Strotman of Aurora, Neb., Rosella and Eugene Braun of Cedar Rapids, Neb., and Janet and Glenn Magsamen of Columbus, Neb.
