Lowman July 24, 1918–Oct. 27, 2005 Dortha L. LOWMAN, 87, of 1307 Wabash Ave., Rochester, died at 11:02 a.m. Thursday at Hickory Creek of Rochester, where she had resided since Jan. 5 following an automobile accident on Indiana 14 East in Fulton County. Born in Twelve Mile to John and Pearl Vanatta Musselman, she lived in the Rochester and Macy communities most of her life after she moved from Twelve Mile. On Dec. 18, 1937, she married Donald Rush in Fulton. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1973. She was a homemaker and a baker at the former Zimmerman's Bakery for a number of years. A member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 70 and several local card clubs, her favorite pastime was watching the Indiana Pacers basketball team. Survivors include one daughter, Janet Collins, Etna Green; one grandson, Brian L. Collins, Elkhart; one granddaughter, Claire Collins, Elkhart; two sisters, Elsie Rush, Rochester, and Gertrude Townsend, Twelve Mile; two brothers, Leonard Musselman and Ralph Musselman, both of Twelve Mile. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter, Carolyn Rush; a granddaughter, Erica Collins; four sisters; and five brothers. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Burial will be at Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
