Description	:	Coon Rapids Enterprise July 26, 1984 The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Joseph (Dorthy) Hofbauer, 68, was held Wednesday, July 25, 1984 at 10 a.m. in Annunciation Church with, the Revs. Edward Carpenter and Anthony Pick officiating. Music was provided by the church choir. The Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Ohde Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. Casketbearers were grandsons: Robert Hofbauer, Jr., Kenneth Hofbauer, Joseph Hofbauer, Chad Hofbauer, Brian Weber and Thomas Weber. Interment was in Annunciation Cemetery. Dorthy, daughter of Herman and Mary Gernentz Fick, was born April 18, 1916, in Carroll County, Iowa. She attended rural schools near her home. On Dec. 24, 1935, she was united in marriage with Joseph Hofbauer at Carroll and the couple made their home near Coon Rapids all her life. Dorthy centered her activities around her home and family and she liked to garden. She was a member of the Annunciation Parish here. Following a short illness, Dorthy died on Sunday, July 22, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 68 years, 3 months and 4 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Kenneth Hofbauer in infancy, and Lorraine Hofbauer as a young girl; one grandson, Justin Sapp; two brothers, Roy and John (LaVerne) Fick, and a sister, Irene Meyers. Surviving are her husband, Joseph; five daughters: Mrs. Richard (Stella) Weber, Glidden, Mrs. Dave (Sally) Johnson, Des Moines, Mrs. Pat (Diana) Killeen, Mrs: Lynn .(Sandra) Forke, and Mrs. Victor (Rose Mary) Sapp, all of, Carroll; three sons: Jerald Hofbauer of Delhi, Robert Hofbauer, Sr., and wife Patricia, and John Hofbauer and wife, Sandy, all of Coon Rapids; 28 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Also four sisters: Mrs. Dale Sigler, Coon Rapids, Mrs. Max Mozena, Bayard, Mrs. Lee Holdsworth, Altoona, Mrs. Gaude Scheffers, New Port, Or.; three brothers: Clarence Fick, Coon Rapids, Duane Fick, Altoona, and Howard Fick, Portland, Or.
