Description	:	Dot Cole Dot Cleo DeLong was born in Lamoni, Ia., on June 20, 1906, and died April 30, 1982. She was the second child and oldest daughter of Martha M. and Fred O. DeLong. When still a young child, she moved with her family to Berier, Mo., where she spent her early childhood. The DeLongs homesteaded near Gillette, Wyo., in 1918. Dot attended Gillette High School and graduated at the top of her class. In 1927, she moved with her family back to Lamoni where Dot was employed as a bookkeeper and cashier in B.D. Fleet's store.... Read More	Dot Cole Dot Cleo DeLong was born in Lamoni, Ia., on June 20, 1906, and died April 30, 1982. She was the second child and oldest daughter of Martha M. and Fred O. DeLong. When still a young child, she moved with her family to Berier, Mo., where she spent her early childhood. The DeLongs homesteaded near Gillette, Wyo., in 1918. Dot attended Gillette High School and graduated at the top of her class. In 1927, she moved with her family back to Lamoni where Dot was employed as a bookkeeper and cashier in B.D. Fleet's store. She worked there until the store burned down in the early 1930s. Dot was united in marriage to Ross G. Cole on January 25, 1933. To this union was born a daughter, Betty Jane, and a son, Frederick Ross. This young family lived in Wyoming for several years before moving to a farm north of Lamoni. When the children reached high school age, the Coles moved into Lamoni. Dot again resumed her career as a bookkeeper. She worked for several businesses in and around Lamoni as well as in other areas where her husband was employed until her retirement. At the age of 8 years, Dot was baptized into the RLDS Church. She was active in many church activities and offices throughout her life. She is survived by her husband, her two children, 8 grandchildren, and a brother, Boyd M. DeLong of Long Beach, Ca. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves to mourn her passing many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
