Doug died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at his home in Oakdale. Douglas E. Dragoo, son of Earl S. and Gwendolyn (McKenzie) Dragoo, was born August 2, 1942 in Omaha, NE. Doug grew up on a ranch east of Neligh, NE. He attended District 32, Dutch Hollow, until 8th grade and attended Neligh High School graduating in 1959. He lived many places in his life but always called Oakdale home. During his life, Doug was blessed with four children, Rhonda, Danny, Terri, and Angel. On August 23, 2009 he was united in marriage to Connie Redwing at Crystal, ND. A man of many talents he worked in construction, specializing in concrete work. In his early years, he constructed the Calamus Reservoir facilities and in later years he built large potato barns all over the United States with his partner and foreman, Connie. In between, he tried his hand at wildcatting, gold mining, trucking, and buying and selling iron. He had a lifelong love of all things mechanical and could fix anything. For pleasure he loved playing pool, fishing, riding horses and spending time visiting with his friends. Doug was also a lifetime member of the Eagles Club. Doug is survived by his wife, Connie of Oakdale, children Rhonda Holz, Daniel Dragoo, Terri (Paul) Mingione all of Phoenix, AZ, Angel (Tom) Cushing of Allen, KS, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two sisters, Deb (Jay) Davis of Papillion and DeAnna Martensen of Oakdale and extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Gwendolyn and brother-in-law, Richard Martensen.
